Once a day:

That's right I downsized the waterpik and went cordless. Quick thoughts after a month of ownership...1. Designed well. Love the rotation of the head. This was always hard to do on corded waterpik as the circular hard tube wouldn't allow correct angle of attack for my mouth. 360 anytime I want to means I 360 WP all the time and stomp on those nubs. (twitch reference to 360 no-scope shots. I play too many games)2. Thing hardly uses battery and lasts forever. One charge when I got it has lasted me without another yet. Should have 30 days easy of no need to charge her up.3. Do I miss the potentiometer dial for changing the pressure? Not really. If you need 7.75/10 and cannot live on any other setting this won't be for you. If you don't know anything other than 'not enough' and 'woah too hard!' then you will be fine on medium forever. It's plenty hard and doesn't drill a hole through my mandible.4. Capacity is acceptable. If you need a gallon of water every time don't get this. Harder you spray the less stays. High water setting on a full tank is like 60 seconds. Fine for me. Medium lasts 90 seconds and that's all I need.If you agree with my review then buy this product. If you don't, well, figure it out.

This product means well. I would say for the first few uses it performed ok. It absolutely does not hold charge for 4 hours. I keep it in the shower as it sprays everywhere when you try to use it over the sink. The power of the water jet is dramatically lacking—if they are going to design a wireless model then it has to be more powerful otherwise what’s the point? It just doesn’t provide the necessary power to do the job. It seemed to be better the first few times but then as the battery discharges it becomes even weaker and it absolutely does not hold charge for 4 hours. It doesn’t even last a couple hours on full charge before the light starts blinking to recharge it and that’s in the setting of very intermittent use for about 45 seconds at a time. In addition the primary attachment would not stay on after the first few uses it just kept falling out so I had to use a new one and then that one broke so I was left with attachments that were not useful for me. In general the overall build quality just seems to be lacking and as I said earlier though there seems to be good intention behind this product it simply does not perform adequately.

I have crowns on two adjacent teeth on my lower left jaw. Whenever I eat, some foods irritate the gums and the teeth. The surrounding areas start to ache and get really painful if left alone. After my last dental cleaning, the problem resolved itself for about a week. But then it started up again. The dentist took x-rays and found no issues with the teeth or the crowns. Upon close examination, there is no infection in the gums. We reasoned that I was probably getting food under the gums in a place where my toothbrush couldn't reach. I bought this water flosser to blast away food particles under the gum line and it seems to be doing really well. After just a few days of using this flosser whenever the gums started to ache, the gums don't seem to be flaring as badly. Maybe in another few days, I can just use this water flosser once daily.

It takes a bit of practice to direct the water where you want it. After 4 days, I'm getting fairly good at directing the water flow to the base of the teeth and between the teeth. I refill it 3 or 4 times to do my whole mouth. Warmer water does better than luke warm water. Be careful not to use too hot of water, though.

I bought this to use in the shower. But, really, it's really hard to refill the flosser's reservoir in the shower. The shower head is really good at spraying the whole body, but not so good at filling the water flosser's reservoir through a dime-sized hole. I find it's just easier and faster to stand over the sink and refill it from the narrow stream of the sink faucet. With a bit of practice, I'm getting better at not spraying the whole bathroom.

Liked this water pic very much but after only 4 months it quit in the middle of using it!! The power button worked; it was fully charged, but the water stream stopped even though the tank was half full! This had never happened before...cannot get the water stream to come back. The cost of this water pik was $86!! A total ripoff!! Must be cheaply made with cheap junk inside. I will not buy this again This was the second one I spent this much money on, and it lasted only 1 and a half years. Not buying again!

I purchased this advanced cordless model for two reasons:

1. I didn't want a big bulky unit with tubes and wires cluttering my bathroom
2. Needed a waterpik that could be used while travelling

This is a truly fantastic product which ultimately sorted out my gum disease and prevented major gum surgery.
My periodontist was so amazed when I saw him and did a double take when he read in the file that I had last seen him 6 months previously!
He hardly had any work to do

I have been using this since the beginning of October 2017

The first time I used it, it alternated between tickling my gums and feeling like there were needles attacking my mouth!
I couldn't finish my whole mouth due to this and my gums were bleeding in a few places
I was unprepared for the PULSING water as I assumed it was just a steady stream of water

One needs to persevere, as your mouth needs to get used to the waterpik sensations.

It took about a week to get used to it and during this time my gums still bled.
Over time, the bleeding got less and less and eventually stopped altogether as did my swollen gums

First Impressions

It was bit bulkier than it looks in the pictures

I had to start on the LOW setting as the water pressure is quite strong
After a month, I have moved to MEDIUM and am now on HIGH
Some reviews have mentioned that they feel that the pressure is not strong enough, but it seems that the measure is compared to the plug in model which is understandably more powerful

Having said that, I don't think that I personally could handle more pressure as on occasion, if one points the nozzle incorrectly on the gums, it still can feel like needles on the gums but this is very rare (The pressure of this portable model is approximately 75psi)

The little flap where you fill the reservoir doesn't seem to be too tight when you first use it, but it works like a charm and water doesn't leak out

The buttons are well positioned and one doesn't push them by mistake

At first, it was quite difficult to do the inside of my teeth, until I realised that the nozzle swivels, which made all the difference

In terms of travelling, it is supplied with a grey plastic "blocker" which is inserted in place of the nozzle.
This prevents residual water from leaking out
It is quite difficult to empty ALL the water out of it, so when travelling, ensure that it is put in a Ziploc bag as there will be a small amount of water that will leak out

I use dental floss before using the waterpik.
There is no special reason for this, other than I am used to using dental floss anyway and feel that this assists in removing plaque from the sides of the teeth

The reservoir holds a fair amount of water (I suppose that there has to be a balance between size and capacity)
I fill up between 3 or 4 times during a session which is very easy to do

Although there are third party generic hard cases available, it would be nice if Waterpik had a custom hard case as an option which would be larger at one end and narrower at the other end so as not to cause unnecessary bulk in your suitcase.

A hard case is a necessity as otherwise the buttons will be pressed and the likelihood of the unit being cracked or broken when you take it out of your suitcase is quite high

BIG FLAW!!!!

The reason for only four stars is that the battery is very old technology in that if you charge it for more than four hours, the battery overcharges and will no longer hold a charge which renders the Waterpik useless

One would expect that with the technology available today, the battery shouldn't be a problem, but it is
It is mentioned in the user manual, but it is not highlighted and the consequences are not explained
Waterpik really need to address this issue as it has the potential to damage their reputation
It is worth paying a few dollars extra not to have this issue

To charge the unit, place the magnetic charger on the body near the bottom (the charger is magnetised and will automatically attach to the correct spot) and it starts charging, BUT you have to remember to remove the charger as soon as its charged (about four hours), which is not convenient at all

CONCLUSION
Despite the battery/charging issue, I think that this is a fantastic product but would ONLY recommend it if you are willing to put up with and manage the charging of it

It would really be nice if Waterpik would comment and clarify the issue

This is my first waterpik, and my first electric toothbrush of any kind. I bought it because I've had some dental work done that's difficult to clean, and for a couple of problem spots this seems to work better than brushing or regular flossing for me. I've really only used the standard tip so far.

I haven't had it long and can't comment on longevity, but the build quality seems good. The three pressure levels are good, the low and medium setting are nice for tender areas and the high setting has pretty good power to clean healthy gums. On high pressure it's able to blast mildew out of the grout between my bathroom tiles! The magnetic charging cable works well on a wet bathroom counter. I'm still learning to use it efficiently and I typically have to fill it at least twice per use, but it's easy to open and close the cap and since I'm hunched over the sink already it's not a problem. The unit is quiet enough that it won't wake up my roomates.

The results feel good to me, I'm assuming it's doing a good job and using this to justify skipping out on professional cleanings, so let's say it pays for itself that way...
