I am very happy with this floor machine. I purchased it before the holidays and my area rugs.And carpet turned out beautifully. It's quite easy to use and fits together well. It does a good job on different pile heights and extract a lot of dirt and dust. The water tanks are not really big.So it does require somewhat more frequent changing.However taking the tanks off and putting them back is very simple and because they are not overly large , They are not heavy. I will say that.It does use quite a bit of cleaner so understand that before you use it. I did purchase the hoover brand cleaner and think it works quite well and it has a very pleasant smell that spread through the house.. The machine is not overly noisy, And in fact was really easy to work around. Some cleaners emit a very high pitched Whine while the motor is on but this one does not. It has several tools to make cleaning ease. I am going to try the upholstery nozzle soon. The tools are easy to change with no difficult or dangerous snaps to work with. This machine rolls easily across the carpet and the wheels seem to be good quality. I'm very happy.I bought this and I think it was a very good item for the price

Better Than The Old Hoover

This replaces our 12 year old Hoover Max Extract top of the line model (Left side in photo). From the photos on the box it appears to be a big, robust carpet cleaner similar to the one it is replacing. However upon opening the box it is smaller and much lighter than the old on and some disappointment set in. The cleaning swath is one inch shorter than the old. Before returning it I decided to test it by going over the same carpet area I had cleaned with the old one three days prior. Wow, was I surprised by the amount of filthy, dirty water being recovered.
At the end of the test run I was sold. Even though this appears to be one the lower end Hoover cleaners it is much improved in every way over our old one. Lighter weight and two carry handles as opposed to just one handle on the old and it was located so high up that carrying it up and down stairs was really difficult. Bigger tanks and easier to put on and take off. Higher suction and greater water recovery rate means cleaner carpets and shorter dry time. The performance and pricing make this Hoover an incredible bargain.

We have all tile and 4 area rugs. We had an old Bissell rug cleaner and we recently cleaned one rug before it broke completely. So I ordered the Hoover. Holy moly! First of all, I redid the rug that was cleaned with the old one and it was apparently still filthy! It was easy to "assemble" and easy to use. It comes with a bunch of accessories, which I'm not sure I'll ever use but they're there and you can store them in the little bag it came with.

While it's perfect for our rugs, I did have to use a whole water container full for each rug - at a minimum. I actually refilled twice, but I wanted to make sure I cleaned it good. If you have all carpet, you will be filling it a lot for one room like a living room. Not a deal breaker, but something to be aware of. Also, it didn't get out one stain on our rug, which I believe to be tea. (Tea is a hard stain to remove and the vacuum is not a miracle worker, but I didn't think it would remove it anyway.) However, my dining room rug looks brand new!

To sum it up, I really like the Hoover. It wasn't a bad price and it's not too big like the kind you rent from the store. Easy to store in a utility closet. I'm happy with my purchase!

Does a Great Job for a Moderate Price

Reviews of the Hoover PowerScrub Deluxe Carpet Cleaner indicated that the internal components might rust after a while, but extensive research on other options indicated that none of the carpet cleaners were problem-free. This one seemed to be the best risk, so I figured that one round of carpet cleaning would pay for itself based on the price of professional cleaning. I also rationalized that the convenience of cleaning the carpets without the pressure of returning rental units was worth the price of buying my own. Also, I was dissatisfied the last time I rented a Rug Doctor that it left the white carpets looking greyish and I preferred to have my own cleaner for sanitary purposes.

Result: I'm very pleased with its performance, which exceeded my expectations, and highly recommend this carpet cleaner. I've since used this cleaner for TWO rounds of cleaning about a year apart and was amazed that it cleaned the carpets in four rooms better than the Rug Doctor ever did, at my convenience. It cleaned grimy, high-traffic areas very well. The width is large enough to clean rows of carpet effectively without being too cumbersome to fit in more tight areas. It also has attachments for small corners. In my opinion it has since paid for itself in performance, ease of use, price, and convenience and I expect it will still be working well for my next round of carpet cleaning since I made sure to clean the unit thoroughly before storing it.

Tip: Keep an eye on the floater in the small plastic shaft that shuts off the power when the water level in the waste tank reaches a high level mark. High suction sometimes makes the floater reach the top and shut off the power prematurely while the water level is still low. This sometimes happens after the unit has been working for a while, such as after thoroughly and repeatedly cleaning a large room. I found that simply turning the power off and on again will sometimes sufficiently cut the suction to let the floater fall back to the actual water level. If the problem persists, simply drop a pebble or small weighted object in the plastic shaft on top of the floater and just keep an eye on the water level to determine when to empty the waste tank. This works well and avoids the problem . Just shutting the power on and off again usually works, but I used the pebble trick to avoid having to keep shutting the power on and off.

La primera vez que la usé le sacó lodo a la alfombra, a pesar de que usamos una buena aspiradora, la diferencia con esta lavadora es notable en las fibras de la alfombra. En la foto se puede ver la comparación, al lado derecho sólo le di una pasada. Es un poco pesada por la cantidad de agua que maneja, pero su funcionamiento es muy sencillo, el peso no hace difícil su manejo gracias a las buenas llantas y tiene un alto poder de succión. Es muy buena también para la limpieza de muebles gracias a los aditamentos. La usamos para lavar toda la alfombra del segundo piso y la de la sala, está última blanca, quedó muy bonita, también lavamos todos los sillones. La recomendamos ampliamente.
